The Divine Nine, also known as the National Pan-Hellenic Council(NPHC), was founded on May 10, 1930 at Howard University; an HBCU in Washington, DC. The purpose of the NPHC was to provide unity, focusing on communication, common operation procedures, and facilitating local counsels in the community all while each sorority and fraternity maintain their individual initiatives and purpose.
The Divine Nine includes: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. (1908), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.(1906), Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. (1911), Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., (1911), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. (1913), Phi Beta Simga Fraternity Inc. (1914), Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. (1920), Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. (1922), and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. (1963).
A main goal of Hall Pass Apparel is to make sure that there is equal representation and availability of Greek apparel among the Divine Nine. Hall Pass currently has one design of Greek Divine 9, also known as the D9 apparel; the And That's On collection. The And That's On collection puts emphasis on the year an organization or HBCU college or university was created. Each design includes a cotton blend t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, and hooded sweatshirt for the fraternities and cotton blend t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hooded sweatshirt, and tote bag for the sororities. The design is heat pressed on the front of the shirts and tote bags.
The designs for each organization include: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.; black t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, or hoodie sweatshirt with 1906 in gold writing, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.; green t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt, or tote with 1908 in pink writing with a white outline, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.; purple t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt with 1911 in gold writing, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.; red t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt with 1911 in white writing, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.; red t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt, or tote with 1913 in black writing with a white outline, Phi Beta Simga Fraternity Inc.; royal blue t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt with 1914 in white writing, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.; royal blue t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt, or tote with 1920 in white writing, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.; gold t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt, or tote with 1922 in royal blue writing and a white outline, and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc.; brown t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie sweatshirt with 1963 in gold writing with white outline.
